I’m a dad, husband, and chief of pediatrics at Group Health Cooperative—one of the nation’s largest consumer-governed health care systems.
I grew up in Washington and graduated from University of Washington (UW) with a Bachelor of Science in zoology. I was inspired my my own pediatrician and went on to get my medical degree from the UW School of Medicine and did a pediatric internship and residency at the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles.
I believe in breaking down the complicated stuff and sharing what I see and learn as a doctor and father of two little ones each day. I also write a column for the Tri-City Herald and previously for the Seattle PI before the newspaper went under.
I believe in giving back to the community and serve on the Board of Directors of KidsQuest Children’s Museum. You’ll see me blog a lot about this special place and the Teddy Bear Clinics we host a few times a year.
